Dear East County Posse,
Our family would like to thank your organization for the absolutely spectacular work that you did to make our home not only clean and organized, but also wheelchair accessible for our daughter, Alana.
Your dedication and hard work was nothing short of miraculous. On that first day when we met Greg Brown and told him Alana’s story, he was so compassionate and caring and looked us in the eyes and said he sincerely wanted to help. We had no idea that it would turn out to be such an awesome blessing.
Your group came in and like a miracle, in just one day, turned our unorganized and unkempt house into what felt like a weekend getaway resort. You poured a ton of concrete throughout our property to make a beautiful driveway for our van so that we could pull right up to the house and get Alana out of the van from the driveway instead of from up on the street. This was a challenge because the steep slope of our driveway made it difficult to get her into the house in her wheelchair. Now it is leveled so it is easy and accessible, and much safer. You also poured a patio slab and walkway outside of Alana’s bedroom so she can roll right out of her bedroom onto the gorgeous patio area and even take a ride on her wheelchair on the concrete path that leads into the back and front yards. She could not do this before because it was all dirt, and she was pretty much stuck in her room. You even cleaned and organized our whole yard. Now she has a wonderful patio garden where she can hang out with family and friends and enjoy the weather without going anywhere but outside her bedroom door. You came in and amazingly cleaned our whole house and even painted our walls, and organized all of our closets and cupboards throughout the whole house. You made our long hallway and master bathroom wheelchair accessible by installing wood laminate where it had been old carpet before and adjusted the bathroom door so she could fit through in her wheelchair. You totally cleaned and organized our extremely cluttered and messy garage and made it an organized place to wash and fold clothes and store things above, where we could barely even walk through it before. You also got rid of a ton of old stuff that needed to be taken to the dump or given away, which lifted a big weight off of us.
We left in the morning and came back later that evening after you had all finished up, and we were in total shock. We could not believe all the work you did in just one day, it was absolutely unbelievable. It looked like a completely different house. You did exactly what you said you would do and much, much more, which was to organize our home and help make our lives less stressful so that we could concentrate on what’s important, caring for our daughter, Alana.
We cannot thank you all enough for everything that you did, and we will always remember the love we felt by receiving your incredible gifts of kindness and generosity. May God bless you all!
Sincerely,
Tim, Rhonda, Darren, Savannah, Tessa, and Alana Swagerty

Dear ECP,
Thank you. Those two small words cannot express the huge amount of gratitude that I feel. You and your organization have been a Godsend.
Raising two children on my own with a limited income has been, to say the least, difficult. I found myself at 49 years old left with nothing but debt and minimal income. For the last three or four years my son was paying half of the monthly bills but when he moved out in November, with less than 30 days notice, I was left with rent that was almost twice what I could afford. When you stepped in with the help it allowed me to get a foot up. Now I will be moving into my own place, one I can afford, on January 25th. So again, thank you.
I am crrently, as you know, not in a position to financially give back to your organization, however, it is important to me to be able to pay it forward. Therefore, I would like to volunteer my time to helping others through your organization. I would be interested in finding out more about your organization and how I can contribute. If you would, please contact me and let me know what I have to do to become part of the team.
Again, thank you for your gift.
Terri Markham

Dear East County Poise
I just wanted to thank you for all the help this last year. From Helping with the school supplies and back packs to the wonderful Christmas we had. You guys have been such a blessing to our ministries and the families we served. We are very grateful for all that you have done.
The monies you gave us from the east County Night out was very much appreciated. We were able to get each child a gift card form Wal-Mart were they were able to go and select Christmas gifts, clothes, and shoes for there Children. The toys from the toy run were great each parent was able to pick a gift for their kids. We were able to serve over 125 families some at the hotel, some at the transitional houses and some visiting their parents at Christmas.
This was one of the best Christmases ever and it was all thanks to the East County Poise and their generosity.
Thank you so much
Denise Valence
